Penultimate day:
Travel agency messed up our mtn bike booking and I find myself just taking a relaxing morning out, exploring the streets and markets of Cuzco with Bertine and Jeff.
I again find myself being suckered into buying chiffon... ... ... Nice sheep wool tablecloth that I reckon will go well in our living room, and an Alpaca blanket for cold tv nights...
Word of caution for men: market shopping with a woman can be a very painful and funny affair...They will bargain for ages, knocking off significant amnts off the requested price, piss off the vendor, all to give up on the sale for just a couple of soles...!!!!! and moan about it later, regretting not having bought the goods...!!! Holiday mindset helping, for once, I didn't mind being witness to such petty haggling... But don't count me in during my regular days...!!!
Afternoon, horse riding around some smaller and lesser known inca ruins around Saqsaywaman...Lucky this was not my first time at this activity, since the guide there didn't even give a brief on how to handle the horse. It was merely a matter of get on the saddle, and follow the guide..!!!!
Houston, we have a farter...!!!! Every uphill would yield strange funny noises coming from the rear end of my companion for the afternoon...!!!
At some point, the guide set off on his own, leaving me stranded alone with my uncooperative horse. He just decided that it was time for a snack, and refused to move for a good 5 minutes...!!! Other tourists on horses tried to help me out, but the stubborn animal would just not budge, and I was left to wait for the return of my guide.
Return to hotel, quick shower and set out for dinner with Bertine and 2 of her dutch friends. Finish the night with my now mandatory freshly squeezed Yajuu juice...actually...my 3rd of the day...:P
